PRESS RELEASE FOR 2018 TSAI AWARDS SHOW
The Songwriters Foundation, Inc. Presented the 35th Annual TSAI “Tennessee Songwriters Association International” Awards Show and TSAI Awards Celebration week April 4th through April 8th 2018. It was an exciting event-filled week celebrating and honoring songwriters and music highlighted with the 2017 TSAI Awards Show April 6th 2018 held at the Historic Texas Troubadour Theatre in Music Valley, Nashville!
The Awards Show, hosted by Kenny Angel, Executive Director of TSAI & President of The Songwriter’s Foundation, Inc. (a Tennessee 501(c)(3) Not-for-Profit Corporation and an outreach of the TSAI) with Announcers Kristin Johnson and Al Brock of Spin Doctors Music Group and 95.5 Nash Icon Radio, was kicked off with the TSAI Band and TSAI theme song “Say It With Music”. Charissa Nicole and the TSAI Band (Touring Musicians: Mark Thomas – Band Leader & Lead Guitar, Keys – Brett Sandler, Bass – Jody Crump, Drums – David Rollins) rocked this song honoring the songwriters, Jim Sylvis (Director Emeritus of TSAI), and Len Scott.
The Awards Celebration featured #1 Hit Songwriter, TSAI Member Danny Wells, Guest performances by #1 Hit Songwriter & Recording Artist Jamie O’Neal, internet sensation Queeva, and the dynamic charting country Sister Duo Presley & Taylor!
Sheree’ Spoltore’ of Global Songwriters Connection honored TSAI, Kenny and Janelle Angel with her song “Angels Without Wings”.
Presenters included TSAI Members, GSC President Sheree’ Spoltore’, James Rea, creator and host of The Producers Chair, and Joanne Cash, famed sister of country legend Johnny Cash!
TSAI Featured Nominees celebrated and shared their amazing songs with performances by:
Chelsea Rae - “25”
Mark Barnowski - “Watching You Be You”
Saleenya (Sandy Moyer, Kat’Lee Jones, Tonya Noya) - “Don’t You Ever Stop”
Charissa Nicole and Mark Thomas - “Middle of the Bed”
Joe Sly - “Vinyl Afternoon”
Kenny Angel - “Whiskey Mistress” and a tribute to Songwriter and Recording Artist Mel Tillis
The show came to a close with the awesome performance of “Say It With Music” lead by Charissa Nicole, Chelsea Rae, Sheree’ Spoltore’ joined on stage by the TSAI Board, The Songwriters Foundation Board, and all the Presenters and Award Winners!
